Note 562388 - Runtime error "START_CALL_SICK"

Summary

Symptom

The following error appears in the syslog after you import one of the following kernels on Solaris machines with the operating system release 5.5.1:
"START_CALL_SICK" runtime error
Transaction termination SY 002 (inconsistency with the database:
Start transaction SICK.

The specified transaction returns the message: OS release SunOS 5.5.1 Generic_103640-29 sun4u is not supported with this kernel (45B)

Reason and Prerequisites

The validity for this release was removed from the kernel information. The message appears after you import the following patch level:

3.1I patch level 681
4.0B patch level 946
4.5B patch level 832

Since September 22, 2002, SUN only provides limited support for this operating system release. New OS patches are no longer created.

Solution

The message is supposed to remind you that your operating system release is no longer current. R/3 functions are not affected in any way.
Update your operating system to a release supported by SUN.
